I was really excited to go to Asia Market since I'm from Vegas and I don't see many Asian grocery stores here but I was beyond impressed! They had so many options and great selections for all kinds of dishes , I love Korean , Japanese and Chinese cuisine so I was happy that they had many produce from these places! The employees were nice telling me where certain things were and I just felt like I was in a traditional Asian market! If you like Asian cuisine and the food definitely check this place out !
I've been wanting to leave a review for Asia Market for awhile now. I do a lot of my grocery shopping here especially when it comes to Asian spices, snacks, and vegetables. My husband believes they have the freshest Asian veggies and we also enjoy their premade foods located in the front when you enter. Every time we come, I get the spring rolls. They're made fresh and thick. At 8 months pregnant, I visited just for the spring rolls and they were all out. The young guy apologized and then offered if I wanted him to make more. Yes yes yes!!! So he did! I was a very happy pregnant woman.
Since Northern Nevada seems to lack the Asian supermarkets you would find in places like SF, LA, LV etc., I am always on the hunt for stores like these. It is located on Prater Way, west of Rock Boulevard. There is a small parking lot with most of the stalls on the west side of the building. When I entered, I noticed right away the merchandise is primarily for Vietnamese cuisine, but I found a few other Asian type groceries such as kim chi, Thai curry paste, and pansit noodles. I did find something I have not seen elsewhere in the frozen section and that was frog legs! Might have to go back and get some. Iit was a little early in the day when I went there so the hot food line was up and running yet. The staff working there spoke Vietnamese to each other and most of the patrons, but it did not take away from their friendliness. They all were smiling and helpful to the questions I had. I will be back.
Sparks Asian Supermarket tour 4 out of 4. Asian supermarket that is Vietnamese/Chinese focused. Quality/Quantity - Okay. Atmosphere - Only 4 hot items at the deli today. Ready to-go Vietnamese snacks, see picture. Produce department. Meat and seafood department. Good size frozen department. Plenty of parking. Open 7 days a week. Service - Okay, you need to do a better job labeling the front door. Price - Comparable to the other 3 Asian Sparks supermarkets. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1985, can I suggest a website?
This is a small grocer but it is full of unique finds. Their fresh takeaway food options looked really good but I arrived after a big meal - next time I will come hungry! They have many different kinds of fresh and pre-packaged Vietnamese specialty items as well as fresh fish and other seafood on ice. There was ample parking in their private parking lot and the owners/employees were helpful. It's nice to know there's an Asian grocery store here so you don't have to drive all the way to CA to get what you need in a pinch.
Great great great service and variety of products I went with. A huge boba craving and inspiration to try and make my own. They had everything from ready made tea ajd pearls to the supplies needed to make your own. Their produce and seafood looked fantastic and we will be trying it out definitely! They have their own parking lot off the street The owner picked up the phone and answered my questions and was also at the store with a huge smile Greeting everyone
If you are looking for food to prepare for the Lunar New Year - Tet, this is the place to go in Reno. I was very shocked at how much Viet food they had stocked and the good brands. They even have a deli and prepared food if you don't have time to cook or want to cut down on preparation time. The owners are awesome and so helpful. The prices are higher than in Sacramento, but it is worth it when you need to grab things without making a huge trip to the Asian Supermarkets in Sac.
